Don’t let the number of ingredients keep you from trying this recipe. I think it is easier than serving hamburgers with all of the trimmings—all the flavors combined in ONE baking dish! It is very much like a crust-less quiche.
After you make this the first time, you may want to adjust
ingredient amounts to suit your tastes.
Serve with a green salad.
Ingredients:
½ pound bacon (I did not use—have
you seen the price of bacon???)
1 pound ground beef
½ chopped yellow onion
1 clove minced garlic (about 1
tsp)
4 TBSP cream cheese
2 TBSP ketchup (no sugar added preferred)
1.5 TBSP yellow mustard
1 TBSP Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp seasoned salt
4 large eggs
¼ cup heavy cream
1 teaspoon hot sauce
1 teaspoon ground pepper
8 ounces shredded cheddar
1 teaspoon fresh dill (1 used ½ teaspoon
dried dill)
Instructions:
3. Add the cream cheese, ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and seasoned salt to the skillet and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until combined.
4. Spread the beef mixture into a greased 8x8 or similar size baking dish. Top with the cooked bacon.
5. Crack the eggs into a medium bowl and whisk together with the heavy cream, hot sauce and pepper.
6. Pour the egg mixture of the beef and bacon.
7. Top with cheddar cheese
8. Bake at 350F for 30-35 minutes or until set and golden brown on top. Let cool 15 minutes before sprinkling with dill and serving.
