This flavorful sauce can add an amazing, additional layer of flavor to your baked pork or chicken dishes; just remember, a LITTLE goes a long way. Can be thickened, if desired.
- 1 Tbsp. olive oil
- 1/2 tsp. fresh, minced garlic
- 1/4 cup water
- 3 Tbsp. apple cider vinegar
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. soy sauce (or Liquid Aminos)
- 1/4 cup honey (reduce amount for less sweet--I use 2 Tbsp.)
To a 1-quart saucepan over medium heat, add 1 Tbsp. olive oil. Allow to heat for 2-3 minutes. Add minced garlic to heated oil. Cook and stir oil & garlic mixture for 1-2 minutes, being careful not to burn the garlic. Reduce heat to low. Add remaining ingredients at once, cook on low, stirring occasionally. Heating on low for 10-15 minutes to blend flavors and reduce a bit.
Once you have made this sauce, you may want to adjust the ingredients to your taste--very easy to do--by adding or subtracting 1-2 teaspoons at a time. Refrigerate leftovers for up to 3 weeks.
You might want to double or triple the recipe--each recipe only makes about 1/2 cup finished.
