I ran across a short TikTok video several months ago and was intrigued. I finally tried the recipe and really like it. I will be serving it year-round. Tastes sooooo good but watch the sodium—use reduced sodium boullion/broth if desired instead of the consommé, (I did).
- 1 lb. rice (white, Basmati, Jasmine, etc) (pour into 9x 13” baking dish)
- 1 can French Onion Soup
- 1 can Beef consommé (or use double-strength broth)
- ½ cup melted butter
- *optional: 2, 4 oz. cans sliced mushrooms with liquid
- *if NOT using canned mushrooms, add additional 1 cup water
Stir all, briefly, just to combine ingredients.

(I haven't tried it, but with larger baking pans, like 1/2 or full steam tray/roasting pans, you should be able to double of quadruple the recipe--perfect for large dinners. You would need to add approximately 20-40 minutes to the baking time.)
