Keto Crescent Dogs

I prefer all-beef Hebrew National hot dogs, but you can use any brand you prefer. Sausages/brats
would also be good.

Yields 8 servings of Keto Crescent Dogs

§ 1 ¾ cups mozzarella cheese

§ 1 ounce cream cheese

§ ¾ cup almond flour

§ 1 tsp baking powder

§ ¼ tsp garlic powder

§ ¼ tsp onion powder

§ 1 large egg

§ 8 large all-beef hot dogs

Preheat oven to 400 F.

1. Grate the mozzarella cheese.

2. In a mixing bowl add the cream cheese, almond flour, and mozzarella cheese. Microwave on high for about 30 seconds.

3. Add in the large egg, baking powder, garlic and onion powders then mix everything. I like to use a silicone spatula because it doesn’t stick as much to the dough.

4. Divide dough into 8 pieces—dough will be soft and can be hard to roll out.  Can refrigerate dough for about 30 minutes to make it easier to work with.  Using a hot dog, roll the dough into a rectangle shape to wrap around hot dog. Pinch long ends together.  Place seam side down on pan.

8. Bake at 400°F for about 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.  BE CAREFUL not to over cook.  You can pop this under the broiler for the last few minutes to get a nice color on top.

This makes a total of 8 crescent dogs. Each serving comes out to be 343.6 Calories, 28.5g Fats, 3.5g Net Carbs, and 17.3g Protein.—depending on hot dogs used.

If there is excess dough, consider stirring in cooked bacon bits or chopped pepperoni chunks to the dough to make drop biscuits.  Bake 10-12 minutes @ 400 F.  A terriffic addition to soup, salad or any meal.  (biscuits shown with Keto Crescents Dogs in picture above)
