I recently, on a whim 😉, purchased
a No Bake Dessert Kit--unusual for me since I prefer to prepare my food mostly from scratch. It was quick and
easy but would be very easily made without a kit (not to mention, less expensive).
You could make your own Oreo crumbs from any Oreo variety or make crumbs
from your own homemade chocolate wafers, shortbread or sugar cookies. For the 4
oz. chocolate, I prefer a milk chocolate (Guittard) but you could choose what
you like. You could use ANY of the
myriad of sprinkles available and be as fancy, colorful & creative as you like. These can be made ahead and stored in a freezer.
4 oz. softened cream
cheese
½ cup Oreo cookie crumbs
4 oz. chocolate of your
choice (milk, semi-sweet, white, etc.)
sprinkles (optional)
1. Mix cream cheese and
cookie crumbs.
2. Using a tablespoon
measure, scoop cookie mixture & shape into 12 balls and freeze 15 minutes.
3. Melt chocolate, in 10-30
second increments, in the microwave. Be careful to not overheat as chocolate
will be dry rather than smooth and creamy.
4. Dip each ball into melted
chocolate and immediately top with sprinkles.
5. Refrigerate 15 minutes or
until chocolate is firm.
6. Remove from refrigerator 10 minutes prior to serving.
