| Korean Ground Turkey w/black beans |
This is another versatile
recipe--Korean Ground Turkey and Rice is a quick & easy meal. It tastes as
good as takeout! Use ground turkey instead of ground beef or sirloin slices;
it's not only budget friendly, but kids will like it too.
- 1 lb. lean ground turkey
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup Liquid Aminos (or low-sodium Soy Sauce)
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger (optional)
- salt and pepper
- 1/2 - 1 teaspoon crushed red peppers (optional--depending on how spicy you like it)
- Rice (cooked)
- 1 bunch green onions (thin sliced)
Optional
- Almond slices
- 1 can black beans, drained & rinsed
- Clean, dry lettuce leaves (for lettuce wraps)
- Cooked fresh or frozen green beans
Instructions
1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and brown ground meat with
garlic in the sesame oil.
2. Drain most of the fat, (there will probably be very little, if any)
add brown sugar, soy sauce, ginger, salt and pepper and red peppers. (Add black
beans & green beans at this point.) Simmer for a few minutes to blend the
flavors.
3. Serve over steamed rice and top with green onions and almond
slices.
