1 package of your favorite stuffing mix (I prefer Pepperidge Farm Herb Seasoning Cubed)
2 cups chicken broth
1 lb of your favorite bulk sausage, crumbled, browned & drained well
1 red apple (I prefer Fuji)
1 green apple (I prefer Granny Smith)
1/2 yellow onion, chopped
1 cup chopped celery
1 tsp minced garlic
4 Tbsp butter
Melt butter in large frying pan or Dutch oven. Add onion & celery. Stir occasionally until celery is softened and onion translucent, 5-7 minutes. Add minced garlic, stirring through for 1-2 minutes.
Add sausage to hot frying pan. Crumble & cook until no longer pink. Drain grease. Add cooked sausage to larger pan with veggies.
Wash, core & chop apples (bite-size). Add to sausage/veggie mixture. Stir in chopped apples. Add dressing mix. Add more seasonings(thyme, sage, rosemary, parsley) if desired. Stir all to combine, without "mushing" bread. Add more/less broth to your desired consistency. Put all into greased casserole or 9"x13" pan. Bake for 30-40 minutes @ 350F. Serve hot with gravy. Store leftovers in tightly covered container.
